Turn a title into a clean URL slug. Type one title per line to make several slugs at once.
A slug is the readable last part of a web address, such as better-writing-tips in example.com/better-writing-tips. This generator turns any title into a clean slug: it lowercases the text, removes accents and punctuation, and joins the words with a hyphen or underscore.
Short, descriptive slugs are easier to read, share and remember, and they give search engines and visitors a quick hint about the page. Paste one title or many, one per line, and copy the result.
Hyphens. Google recommends them for separating words in URLs, because underscores can join words together in the eyes of a search engine.
As short as it can be while still describing the page. Three to five meaningful words is a good target, and the maximum-length option cuts at a word boundary.
Often yes. "10-tips-for-better-writing" becomes "10-tips-better-writing", which is shorter. Keep them whenever removing them would change the meaning.
Accents on Latin letters are removed, so "café" becomes "cafe". Letters from other scripts are kept as they are and are not transliterated.
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, stored or shared, and you can use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
